Ian Parker

Ian has spent 25 years in leadership positions within the insurance industry, most recently as the group Chief Executive of Catalina Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd. His previous role was at Equity Red Star, the largest motor syndicate at Lloyd’s and as CEO led a major turnaround resulting in significant value creation for its investors and stakeholders. Other leadership roles have been held at Zurich, RBS, Hardy Underwriting and Direct Line Group.

He brings considerable experience in identifying options and solutions for business critical issues including M&A, disposals, market strategy, customer propositions and operational designs. His core skills are strategic development, transformation and creating and leading teams to deliver results for all stakeholders, customers, employees and shareholders.

Ian’s interest in investment management began on the floor of the London Stock Exchange, just before Big Bang in 1986 and later running his own account on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange whilst living in South Africa.
