Our History
EXE Capital Management is the new name of Everys Investment Management (EIM) the discretionary asset management business established in 1990 to serve the clients of Everys Solicitors, one of the oldest established legal practices in the West Country.
EIM’s Principal, James Griffin, had been seeking a partner to help enhance the investment and financial advisory proposition when he was introduced to James Scott-Hopkins, himself long established in private client wealth management. In an industry that is consolidating, both understood the need to continue to offer highly personalised services to individuals and their families.
EXE Capital Management will proactively support individuals and their families in pursuing their financial objectives over their lifetimes. We will avoid jargon to ensure our advice is clear, manage expectations through constant review and provide a tiered fee structure which will reflect a family’s combined wealth.
As a privately owned company we can serve our clients without investment bias.
The names EXE (EKS), AXE and USK all derive from the common Brittonic or Celtic languages during the Iron Age and Roman period and means “abounding in fish”. The River EXE is one of Devon’s most important rivers running for about 60 miles from its source at EXE Head, in the north of the county, all the way south through the City of Exeter. It eventually flows into the sea at the EXE Estuary.

The courage to press on regardless – regardless of whether we face calm seas or rough seas, and especially when the market storms howl around us – is the quintessential attribute of the successful investor
